Diljit Dosanjh Croons For Akshay Kumar
After playing one of the lead roles in Shahid Kapoor-Kareena Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer Udta Punjab, Diljit Dosanjh has now sung for Akshay Kumar in Singh is Bling.

Akshay plays a Sardar and the film has Punjabi flavour, so who better than the popular Diljit to do the playback for a solo number picturised on Akshay?" says a source close to the film.

SpotboyE.com has it that the song was recorded in a studio in Delhi. "Akshay has even completed its shoot," adds the source.

Singh is Bling stars Amy Jackson opposite Akshay and is being directed by Prabhu Dheva. Kriti Sanon was the first choice for the female lead but opted out when the dates of her new assignment Dilwale clashed with those of Singh is Bling.

While still in school, Diljit began singing Sikh music at local gurdwaras. He released his first album Ishq Da Uda Ada in 2000 with Finetone Cassettes, a division of T-Series. Rajinder Singh of Finetone, who helped Dosanjh make a debut in the Punjabi music industry, suggested him to spell his first name as Diljit instead of Daljit. In 2004, his second album Dil was released, which was again with Finetone Cassettes. Both of these albums were a big flop. Dosanjh's third album, Smile, again a T-Series release, however proved to be a game-changer.

The film will hit the theatres on October 2.
